Poetry Bio

Jim is a resident of Portland, Oregon. Jim's poetry has been deeply influenced by the works of the Persian mystical poets Jellaludin Rumi and Hafiz. Jim is periodically the featured poet and prose reader at several venues in the greater Portland area.

Jim's poetry has been published in Belonging to Life, by Mary OMalley; Awaken Press, 2002.

Jim is currently writing a book about his experiences in the Army during the Viet Nam era. The book, tentatively titled, "Hey You! ..... or How I Learned to Love the War" is a series of humorous, ironic and tragic vignettes about his experiences as a highly reluctant infantryman in the United States Army.
